Kaiser's smoking cessation program

topic posted Thu, September 9, 2004 - 2:28 PM by  sweet.jesus!
I'm considering starting this campaign through my HMO, but unsure, as it requires 6 months of medication. Not sure if it's Zyban or Wellbutrin, it;s some kind of anti-depressant. I hear the success rate of this program is high, but am nervous about the pills. Has anyone undergone such treatment or know someone who has? If so, would love to hear about it.

    Hey B.B.,

i am familiar with the program from kaiser, i havnt taken it myself, but i have taken zyban. my experience with that was a bad one, after taking it for about a week and a half i felt overly nervous and gittery, im sure some of this was natural withdrawals but when i spoke to my doc. again he took me off and suggessted i take a cessation program without the pills.

i have heard of people being sucessfull with taking prescribed antidepressants though.
