ok call me crazy, but i believe in this. i quit 13 days ago, and when i quit cold turkey, i went to donate a pint of blood. why?
because i believe it helps purge the system of the nicotine addition faster. i think technically it takes 14 days to actually break the physical craving and 30 to break the emotional / psychological craving.
so i help the physical part move a bit faster by doing a small purge. any matter, it is a cool thing to do for other people and in my mind it clearly helps (maybe just as a placebo).
end thoughts.

Re: blood donating
Wed, September 15, 2004 - 5:41 PMi think it helps physically too.
if i remember correctly we have 6 pints of blood in our body (?), and when you donate you donate one. so I believe that making your body regenerate, obviously helps remove traces of nicotine sooner, thus providing with a bit of a physical catharsis (and mental too).
ever notice how right after a meal you need a smoke/ because the blood has all gone to your stomach and your brain isn;t getting its steady dose. same with sex too. it is just the displacement of blood from that causes this need.
so anyway.... its worked before for me... and luckily i am now 20 days quit, this time. and i think i'm done for good. i don't even think about anymore.
